Each of these galleries highlights a major region of the Pacific, and its unique environment. Of the 18 exhibits in the Southern California/ Baja Gallery, the most popular include a 211,000 gallon seal and sea lion habitat; The Sea of Cortez Exhibit in the Southern California/Baja Gallery, which takes a closer look at one of the world’s most biologically productive areas of water; and a Sanctuary to Shorebirds. The Northern Pacific Gallery is home to 12 exciting exhibits, including a Sea Otter Exhibit, the Surge Channel and Schooling Fish. Finally, the Tropical Pacific Gallery features 16 exhibits, each representing the beautiful marine life that can be found along the coast of Palau.
Embark on a 3D adventure
The Aquarium of the Pacific can help make your upcoming Airport Van Rentals vacation even more memorable thanks to their unique 3D movie theatre. Located right next to the galleries, this theatre hosts a number of exciting 3D animated movies. Dive into the depths of the ocean and uncover creepy monsters, or follow a forgotten fish on his long journey home. These films are suitable for visitors of all ages and cost just $3 for one or $5 for both. Seating is limited inside the Honda Theatre, so be sure to purchase your ticket as soon as you arrive.
What out for sharks
One of the most popular exhibits at the Aquarium of the Pacific is the Shark Lagoon, Southern California’s largest shark habitat. Customers of Airport Van Rentals will find more than 150 sharks inside this habitat, including zebra, sandbar and nurse sharks. A number of interactive displays flank to shark pond as well, highlighting the different types of sharks, their sizes, senses, teeth and reproductive methods. The 10,000 square-foot Shark Lagoon, along with the Lorikeet Forest Aviary, is part of the Aquarium’s Explorer Cove exhibit, an outdoor educational experience for travelers of all ages.
See the forest from the trees
Imagine walking into a forest and being surrounded by dozens of brightly coloured birds. Suddenly a puff of wind passes by your face and a bird lands right on your shoulder! Think this sort of thing only happens in the rainforest? Think again! Customers of Airport Van Rentals will be transported to the coastal lowlands of Australia inside the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Lorikeet Forest outdoor aviary exhibit. More than 100 Lorikeet birds are housed inside this 3200 square foot aviary, creating a colourful experience that’s quite unlike anything else. Customers of Airport Van Rentals are encouraged to purchase a small cup of nectar, the Lorikeet’s favourite treat, to the feed the birds. But be forewarned –these colourful bundles of feathers are extremely friendly, so don’t be afraid if one (or 4!) try to land on your hand.
