Disneyland is the place where you can make your dreams come true with your van rental. Located in Anaheim, CA, it is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company and has been visited by more than 515 million guests since it opened in 1955.
Visit the happiest place on earth
Walt Disney was inspired with the idea of Disneyland one afternoon when visiting Griffith Park with his daughters. He wanted to build a place that both adults and kids could enjoy. It was also inspired by the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago where there were different “country” areas set up with rides. While people had a lot of fun at the World Fair, the weather in Chicago is not ideal for this to last year-round. But the weather in Southern California is perfect for a theme park. Furthermore, people had written letters to Disney about visiting the studio lot and meeting their favorite characters. The original park was to be on an eight-acre plot of land, but the idea grew so large that more space was needed and what would come to be is Disneyland, which you can now visit with your van rental.
Kick back and relax
Since the late 1990s, Disneyland has been transformed into more than just a theme park. Today Disneyland is a resort within itself that you can visit with your van rental. Today the Disney Resort includes Disney’s Adventure Park, a shopping and entertainment area, Downtown Disney, and a number of hotels to choose from.
Create your own adventure
When you visit Disneyland with your van rental, there are realms that encircle the central Plaza. Once you are within one of the realms, you are completely immersed in the environment and have no idea what is happening in any of the other realms. It is almost like being on stage within that area. There are seven realms in the current park. Main Street USA is an early 20th century Midwest town, Adventureland is a jungle adventure, Frontierland illustrates the western frontier, Fantasyland brings fantasy to reality, Tomorrowland is a look into the future, New Orleans Square is based on 19th century New Orleans, Critter Country is themed around Song of the South, and Mickey’s Toontown is themed around the Toontown in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit. To get around the park, there is a railroad to take you from one realm to another.
Take in a show
Not only are there rides for you to visit when you come with your van rental, but there is also live entertainment throughout the park. Disney characters greet visitors and pose for photos wherever you can find them. Some of the characters have specific areas where they are scheduled to appear, while some just wander around. Every day at dusk there is a flag ceremony to lower the American flag for the day. In addition, there is also the Disneyland Band, which plays on Main Street as well as breaks into smaller groups around the park. Be sure to check them out before leaving in your van rental for the day.
Disneyland is one of the most recognized landmarks in California as well as a great place to visit with your family in your van rental.
