Pacific Park is a family theme park in Santa Monica that you can visit with your van rental. The park is located on the Santa Monica Pier and looks directly out onto the Pacific Ocean towards Catalina Island. There are twelve rides here, including a Ferris where and a roller coaster. Pacific Wheel is the world's first and only solar powered Ferris wheel. Inkie's Scrambler is a 12 car scrambler. Sea Dragon is a pirate ship with a 180 degree swing. Pacific Plunge is a 45 foot drop tower. Finally there is Sig Alert, a bumper car ride. You will not want to miss some of these rides when you visit with your van rental. Out on the boardwalkThe Santa Monica Pier is one of the most prominent and well-known landmarks that you can visit with your van rental. Pacific Park is the most-well known attraction here, but there is also an aquarium, shops, an arcade, a pub, and restaurants. At the end of the pier, anglers can cast a line. Feuding over the waterThe current Santa Monica Pier that you can visit with your van rental is actually two piers that for a long time had separate owners. The narrow Municipal Pier opened in 1909 for sewer pipes to carry waste beyond the breakers. There were no amenities here. The shorter and wider Pleasure Pier (or Newcomb Pier) was built in 1916. The Carousel was built in 1922 on Pleasure Pier, which was rebuilt in 1990. Shop till you dropAfter you visit Pacific Park and the Santa Monica Pier, you might want to visit Montana Avenue with your van rental.
